Mission Statement

Utah Contemporary Theatre, America’s only free professional theatre, contributes to the cultural life of the community and the region, provides theatre to a diverse audience, and supports the development of local theatre artists.

We create new theatrical opportunities for audiences and artists by meeting the following goals and objectives:

• Develop and produce new plays including world premiers that explore current social, political and cultural issues relatable to residents of Utah.
• Includes the community in new play development through a series of play readings.
• Attracts underserved and cosmopolitan audiences.
• Eliminates economic barriers to attendance.
